Mundão, Christmas Land

When the Magic of Christmas Met the Energy of the Dancefloor

The Mundão parish experienced a true Christmas spirit with another edition of the “Mundão, Terra Natal” event, organized by the Parish Council of Mundão, chaired by Pedro Carragoso. Over three days, Largo Dr. Góis was transformed into a space of gathering, tradition, and celebration for the entire community.

The event offered a warm and family-friendly atmosphere, featuring a Christmas market filled with local crafts, sweets, and traditional seasonal delicacies, as well as activities dedicated to children. Surrounded by lights, music, and entertainment, Mundão strengthened its identity as a true Christmas village throughout this special weekend.

The opening took place on Friday late afternoon, launching an intense program of celebration. After performances by Raquel & Rodrigo and a light show that illuminated Largo Dr. Góis, one of the most anticipated moments of the night arrived with the performance of Anny Dupin.

With a vibrant presence and an immediate connection with the audience, Anny Dupin transformed the night into a true open-air dancefloor. Her performance stood out for the way she engaged the crowd, creating a lively and festive atmosphere that extended the energy of the opening far beyond expectations. It was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the entire program.

On Saturday, the festivities continued with Santa Claus’s arrival, street entertainment, parades, and the traditional Christmas sweets competition, followed by performances from the Mundão Primary School (2nd and 3rd cycle) and a fire show that brought intensity and emotion to the evening.

Sunday closed the event with the Santa Claus motorcycle parade, musical moments with the Mundão Folklore Group and the Coro Azul, children’s entertainment, and a final performance by Concertinas Viriatuu’s, ending three days of strong community participation.

In the end, the feeling remained of an event experienced with a strong spirit of unity and tradition, where Christmas culture, music, and community involvement came together in a truly special atmosphere, reinforcing Mundão as a festive meeting point in the region.
